Comprehensive in-house refurbishment of a 2.5 MW Winergy PZFB 3494.0 wind turbine gearbox, featuring a complete lubrication system upgrade, black oxide bearings, and rigorous load testing for guaranteed plug-and-play reliability.
Our specialized service facility successfully executed a full refurbishment of a Winergy PZFB 3494.0 gearbox. Designed for the GE 2.5 wind turbine platform, this critical 2.5 MW drivetrain component was thoroughly overhauled to maximize energy yield, extend its operational lifespan, and ensure peak reliability for the wind farm operator.
To combat premature wear and optimize mechanical stability, we replaced all bearings with high-durability black oxide bearings. Every gear within the unit underwent rigorous inspection and was either replaced with new components or precision-reworked to meet strict OEM standards. Furthermore, all vital consumables, including seals and key fasteners, were replaced with brand-new parts to guarantee a secure, leak-free assembly.
This refurbishment also featured a comprehensive upgrade of the lubrication and braking systems to ensure long-term, trouble-free operation. We installed a new electrical oil pump, a new lubrication block with filters, and a new off-line filtration system. Additionally, the brake disk was precision-reworked, and the brake calipers were either overhauled or replaced with new ones. Depending on the specific turbine mark version, a custom wiring harness can also be supplied to ensure seamless integration.
Before leaving our facility, the gearbox was subjected to stringent load testing to validate its performance under simulated field conditions and was finished with a professional protective coating. Accompanied by complete documentation—including inspection, load test, and repair reports—the unit was delivered in perfect plug-and-play condition, ready for immediate installation into the nacelle.
