Our expert engineering team executed a full refurbishment of a Winergy PEAB 4456.6 gearbox. Operating within a Siemens 2.3 wind turbine with a power output of 2.3 MW, this vital drivetrain component was meticulously overhauled to ensure optimal reliability, extend its service life, and maximize power generation for the client.
To combat wear and enhance long-term durability, we replaced all bearings with high-performance black oxide bearings. Every gear within the unit was subjected to a thorough inspection and was either replaced or precision-reworked to meet stringent quality standards. Furthermore, all critical consumables, including seals and key fasteners, were replaced with brand-new components to guarantee a robust and leak-free assembly.
What sets this particular refurbishment apart is the application of specific, advanced enhancements requested by the client. We performed a comprehensive upgrade to version .8 specifications and installed a nitrided ring gear to significantly improve the overall lifespan and resilience of the gearbox. The service scope also included the integration of essential accessories: a fully refurbished shrink-disc, a precision-reworked brake disk, and overhauled or new brake calipers.
Following the mechanical rebuild, the gearbox underwent rigorous load testing to validate its performance under simulated real-world conditions and was finished with a professional protective paint coating. Delivered with a complete suite of documentation—including inspection, load test, and repair reports—the unit was supplied in perfect plug-and-play condition, ready for immediate and seamless installation directly into the nacelle.
